We had a classic suite with comfortable bed and a dining area and a coffee table. The location was comfy, very close to Saint Mary's Cathedral. Set in really comfortable area, pubs and restaurants were very close to the hotel.

The location of the hotel was handy - not too far from El Barrio. Actually, the room was spotless and airy with a fireplace.

Well decorated and well-appointed unit with a microwave, an electric kettle and refrigerators. Location - handy and ideal, close enough to the many bars and restaurants, all main attractions and shopping areas and the Edinburgh Residence as a family for a short stay.

The location is about a 30-minute walk to the main attractions, which might deter some folks, though a quick £10 Uber can get you there in 10 minutes. Parking costs £10 per day, a bit surprising considering it's a private lot and not mentioned upfront. The room could have benefited from some extra lighting options, like a lamp by the dining table to enhance the cozy atmosphere, but I guess we all have our quirks when it comes to lighting.

Outstanding staff - they really took care of us and did everything to make our visit as pleasant as possible. Location was okay - about 10 min walk to shopping area, 20 minute walk to Royal Mile and 25-30 min walk to Edinburgh Castle, A major benefit was the on site parking - the best location and price for that option. Over all a great place to relax and enjoy your time in Edinburgh - I would definitely visit this hotel again!
Internet was painfully slow - this is not a place that you could do business as the wireless internet was restrictive. There was a public computer for use, but if your are looking for a business hotel foe use with your own computer this is not it.

The rooms were lovely and spacious.
The hotel was far too hot. The heating in the rooms could not be turned off and we stayed during a warm day. The hotel provided us with a fan, but we were still awake early in the morning due to the heat. Not good when we were staying to get sleep after having a baby!

Superb location, very quiet and our classic suite felt like a 'home away from home'. Breakfast, which was delivered to our room, was outstanding. Overall I would highly recommend The Edinburgh Residence for location, quality, comfort, privacy and the staff are second to none.

Couples seeking vintage charm will love it
We stayed for 5 nights and they let us drop our luggage early while we explored, so nice of them. The staff really knows what they're talking about, gave us great food recommendations and the room was massive and beautiful like a damn palace.
It's not inexpensive but honestly worth every penny.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Edinburgh Residence. Whether it came at a time we really needed it or it was properly fantastic, I'm veering towards the latter. Very scottish, panelled walls, tiled floors. Stay here, you will absolutely not regret it.

Excellent location. Nice quiet area of Edinburgh, but only a short walk to Princes Street. Beautiful rooms, great staff. Free, private car park this close to the city centre is a real bonus! Would recommend to anyone I know.
